The Talbots Sales Associate provides an exceptional selling and customer service experience that promotes the product and supports the brand. Sales Associates must demonstrate selling competence, styling expertise and possess a love of fashion. Sales Associates are accountable for achieving goals for sales and new accounts using product knowledge, selling tools and other available resources. Sales Associates are also required to complete stock assignments and other special projects as needed.

The Talbots Sales Support Associate is responsible for receipt and transfer of inventory, stockroom maintenance, assisting in the execution of visual merchandising, sales floor support, cashiering, and other operational duties. This position performs in a supportive and productive manner, operating in a swift, efficient and organized manner in the best interest of store performance and customer service.

The primary job description is as follows:

Management position responsible for all aspects of managing a single retail store. -Customer service experience- 6 months minimum

-Ability to effectively communicate with customers, peers and supervisors

-Availability for varied weekly shifts including weekend, closing, and peak shifts

-Supervisory experience preferred

Scope The Retail Store Second Assistant Manager provides assistance in the direction and leadership to a Yankee Candle Retail Store; as Manager-On-Duty (MOD) drive sales & profitability; provide exemplary guest service, ensure visual merchandising/presentation and operational standards; recruit, staff, coach and develops sales associates as a part of our Succession Plan; meets or exceeds divisional and store sales and profitability goals.

Minimum Requirements

1-2 years’ supervisory/management experience in a retail sales environment or similar fast paced, customer service environment, preferred.

Previous experience in a retail sales environment with increasing levels of responsibility and strong working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.

Demonstrated ability to effectively lead/direct, coach and train others in a retail setting, and the ability to resolve guest concerns/complaints well using communication, interpersonal, diplomacy and related skills required.

Experience in a specialty retail environment required.

Hours: Flexibility in work schedule is required including the ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as operational need may require.
